WHY IT CURVES
A tapered wrap is part of a ring
A tapered tumbler is a section of a cone. Its top and bottom edges have different circumferences, so its surface cannot flatten into a rectangle without distortion.
PixGauge calculates the cone’s slant geometry, creates two concentric arcs, and joins them at the seam. The resulting annular-sector shape should wrap around the measured surface without forcing a rectangular design to stretch.

- Mark the top and bottom limits of the printable area.
- Measure the outside diameter at both marks—not at the rim or base.
- Measure the vertical distance between the marks.
- Print a paper test at 100% scale before using transfer material.

Which end is the top in the SVG?
The wider and narrower edges are labeled in the downloaded SVG. The generator also reports both edge lengths so you can confirm the orientation against your measurements.
What happens if both diameters are equal?
PixGauge generates a rectangular template because equal diameters describe a straight cylinder. For that situation, the straight tumbler calculator also lets you check an image’s effective resolution.
Does the SVG contain my artwork?
No. It is a blank guide with the correct artboard size, curved trim outline, and overlap marker. Import it into your design software and add artwork there.
Why should I print a paper test?
A paper test can reveal measurement, scaling, seam, and orientation problems before you consume sublimation paper or another transfer material.
