HOW TO READ THE RESULTS
PPI, DPI, and print quality
PPI describes how many image pixels are printed per inch. A 3,000-pixel-wide image printed at 300 PPI is 10 inches wide.
DPI technically refers to printer dots per inch, but the term is commonly used when people mean image PPI. PixGauge focuses on actual pixel dimensions because those determine how much image detail you have.
Changing only a DPI/PPI metadata value does not create new image detail. To make a genuinely larger high-resolution print, the image usually needs more pixels through a higher-resolution source or careful upscaling.
